With our test centre, we can offer our customers guaranteed high quality
At Hörle Wire, we stand for the high and consistent quality of our products. As a step in ensuring our customers receive a good product that meets their requirements, we continuously carry out tests and analyses. This way we can improve quality and match the usage to different industrial processes. By developing techniques and methods for quality control, we can guarantee our customers high quality and deliver a better product.
Through our different markets, we’re creating a broad range of expertise and a variety of processes.
Tests we can perform
Dimensions
Control by measuring diameter of round wire and thickness and width of flat wire.
Tensile Test
Tensile/Strength tests on wire are used to determine material properties such as tensile strength or yield strength.
Bend Test
Bending test is a proven test method that involves destructive testing by bending wire.
Torsion Test
The torsion test is a mechanical test where the properties of the wire are evaluated when it is subjected to angular displacement.
Wrapping Test
Wrapping test is a mechanical test where the properties of the wire are evaluated under load by counter-rotating the wire. The adhesion of the coating to the wire is also checked with this test.
Mass of coating
Coating tests are used to determine the thickness of coatings on wire and thus monitor the coating process.
Dipping test
The dip test checks the quality and thickness of the zinc coating on the wire.
Metallographical Test
Metallographic examinations make it possible to detect anomalies in the material structure.
Chemical analysis/
Spectral analysis
Method for chemical analysis of a substance by evaluating the spectral colors emitted by the substance.
Surface roughness test
Surface measurement characterizes the surface structure. In detail, it can be described by roughness and shape parameters as well as waviness.
Hardness test
The hardness test is used to determine the hardness of the wire. From this, properties such as strength, toughness and wear resistance can be derived.
Eddy current testing
Eddy current testing is a testing method that uses the principle of electromagnetism to detect defects in conductive materials.
